The University of Waterloo invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Geotechnical Engineering in a teaching stream. A PhD and licensing in Canada are required, with a strong commitment to teaching and service. Candidates with industry geotechnical experience and a passion for pedagogy are preferred.

The anticipated start date is Sept 1, 2027. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 plus potential negotiations for exceptional qualifications.

Formación

• PhD in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or related field.
• Engineering license for practice (full) or teaching (limited) in Canada, or apply within first year.
• Strong teaching potential and communication skills; interest in pedagogy.
• Preferred substantial geotechnical industry experience.

Responsabilidades

• Teach courses such as Geotechnical Engineering 1, Soil Mechanics and Foundations, Geotechnical Engineering 2 and 3.
• Demonstrate outstanding teaching, engage in program development and community building.
