Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management Inc. is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support underground mining operations near Kamloops, BC. This permanent full-time role involves ground control, mine development, and practical geotechnical solutions on a rotating 7 days on / 7 days off schedule.

You will perform field assessments, provide technical recommendations, and help ensure safety and efficiency of mining activities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Formal geotechnical engineering degree or equivalent.
• Professional engineering designation (P.Eng.) required.
• Experience in underground mining geotechnical support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical support for underground ramp development and mining activities.
• Perform field inspections, mapping, and data collection to assess ground conditions.
• Develop and optimize ground support designs based on site data.
• Monitor ground behavior and advise on safe mining operations.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for operations and engineering teams.
• Contribute to ground control strategies and procedures improvements.
• Collaborate with mining engineers, supervisors, and site personnel to manage geotechnical risks.
