Job summary

A respected distributor of industrial equipment is seeking a Mechanic/Service Technician to perform repair and maintenance on heavy equipment and industrial generators. The ideal candidate has over 3 years' experience and excellent communication skills. This role involves customer interaction and requires a focus on high-quality service. The work includes both in-house and field service tasks, as well as ongoing training and certification. Located in Peel Region, Mississauga, this role emphasizes professionalism.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Mechanic or Service Technician for diesel engines and/or industrial/commercial generators.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Customer service focused with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Able to work autonomously and utilize time-management skills.
  • Engine repair experience is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Update and complete work orders during the diagnostic, quotation and repair process.
  • Perform maintenance and repair to heavy equipment and off-road engines.
  • Perform service maintenance and repair to industrial/commercial generators.
  • Complete warranty repairs and ensure high-level customer service.
  • Participate in service certifications and continuous improvement.

Are you looking to work for a professional and well respected distributor of industrial equipment, generators, engines and parts for the off-road and industrial market?

We are seeking a Mechanic / Service Technician who will travel to customer sites to perform repair work and preventative maintenance for a variety of heavy equipment engines and industrial generators.

Responsibilities
  • Update and complete work orders during the diagnostic, quotation and repair process
  • Perform in-house and field service maintenance and repair to heavy equipment and off-road engines including inspections, diagnoses, failure analysis, troubleshoot, test, service, repairs, rebuilds, assembly / disassembly and / or installation of components / engines before or upon delivery to customers
  • Perform in-house and field service maintenance and repair to industrial / commercial generators to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably
  • Participate in and complete on-going service certifications and manufacturing training provided by the company
  • Ensure all mechanical work is in accordance with standards and guidelines established by the company, suppliers and / or manufacturers
  • Inspect defective equipment / products and diagnose malfunctions or failures, using test instruments and writing analysis reports
  • Complete warranty repairs
  • Participate in the development of continuous improvement for customers and internal team members
  • Consistently provide a high-level of customer service
