Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto is seeking a General X-Ray Technologist to join the Medical Imaging team. This permanent part-time role requires rotating shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends at the Wilson Site.

You will perform a range of radiology exams, operate DR/CR and fluoroscopy equipment, and support radiologists with reporting via PACS. A CMRO/CMRITO registration and BLS certification are required, with CAMRT preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO); CAMRT is preferred.
  • Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
  • Certification and bi-annual maintenance of Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team within the Medical Imaging Department.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record.
  • Must be willing to cross-train in other areas of the department.
  • Understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion in health practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all x-ray exams as per departmental protocols: general x-ray, OR, portable, gastric exams, fluoroscopy and minor procedures.
  • Operate equipment including DR/CR rooms, mobile x-ray, C-arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy, and multi-purpose rooms.
  • Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures, obtain consent, confirm exam validity and coordinate with radiologists.
  • Complete exam process with image review, documentation, and reporting via film and/or PACS.
  • Follow radiation safety practices to protect patients, staff and self.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a General X-Ray Technologist to join our Medical Imaging team.

Employment Status: Permanent Part Time

Duration: September 2027-subject to change as per Article HRH 2 – Management Rights

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Medical Imaging

Hours of work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article HRH 2 – Management Rights

Hourly rate range: $36.84 - $50.24

Location: Humber River Health - Wilson Site

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all x-ray exams as per determined departmental protocols.
  • Includes general x-ray, O.R., Portables, Gastric exams, Fluoroscopy and minor procedures
  • Ability to operate all types of equipment including general x-ray rooms (DR & CR), mobile x-ray, c-arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and multi-purpose rooms.
  • Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures including obtaining consent and confirming exam validity, resourcing radiologists as is necessary and sterile technique practices.
  • Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via film and/or PACS.
  • Knowledge of and dutifully follows radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and their own occupational dose.

Qualifications:

  • Must be registered and in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). CAMRT is preferred.
  • Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
