Job summary

Health Match BC in Nanaimo, BC is seeking a 0.7 FTE General Surgeon to join eight colleagues in the General Surgery division at Nanaimo General Hospital. The role emphasizes management of endoscopy, breast cancer, endocrine and abdominal conditions with sub-subspecialty training viewed favorably.

The successful candidate will hold RCPSC certification or be eligible for BC licensure and participate in 7 Acute Care Surgery weeks per year, with potential involvement in Trauma service and teaching

Qualifications

• RCPSC certification or eligibility for certification and BC licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a broad range of general surgical conditions including endoscopy, breast cancer, endocrine and abdominal conditions.
• Collaborate with division colleagues and participate in elective surgery and endoscopy resources.
• Commit to 7 Acute Care Surgery service weeks per year; opportunity to participate in Trauma service and surgical assisting if desired.
