Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Maintenance Planning and Reliability Leader for the Meadowbank Complex in Nunavut. You will oversee planning and reliability teams, align short- and long-term maintenance with the mine life plan, and drive continuous improvement through RCA/FMEA and CMMS optimization.

The role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep knowledge of maintenance KPIs, budgeting, and asset lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Technical or university education in a relevant field (administration, mechanics, project management, engineering).
• Professional Engineer, CMRP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma training.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance functions; at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Maintenance planning and scheduling in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• CMMS implementation and optimization.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance and asset management.
• Strong knowledge of RCA and FMEA.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis/visualization.
• Experience with CMMS like JDE or SAP.

Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance, you will be part of the Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for delivering integrated planning and reliability support to your department, covering mobile equipment, E&I assets, and the Process Plant. You will oversee both the planning and reliability teams to ensure short-term (12-month) and long-term (OPEX/CAPEX) maintenance strategies are aligned with the mine’s life cycle and operational objectives. This includes preparing annual budgets, managing asset lifecycle integration within the CMMS, and supporting the implementation of reliability practices and equipment performance monitoring. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

Maintenance Planning and Reliability Leadership

Lead and manage both the planning and reliability teams to ensure short-term and long-term maintenance planning across mobile equipment, E&I, and process plant assets. Provide strategic direction, coaching, and support to ensure alignment with operational goals and the mine life plan.

• Approved and optimized maintenance plans and reliability strategies;
• Planning KPIs such as schedule compliance, backlog health, and work order completion rates;
• Reliability KPIs including team-led MTBF and MTTR improvements;
• Alignment of planning and reliability deliverables with departmental goals.

Continuous Improvement and Reliability Strategies

Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement reliability strategies such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Monitor and improve reliability of KPIs including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

• RCA reports and documented improvement projects;
• Reliability dashboards and performance tracking;
• MTBF/MTTR trend analysis;
• Cost savings and performance gains from implemented solutions.

Budgeting and Strategic Planning

Coordinate the development of OPEX and CAPEX maintenance plans and budgets in alignment with operational, reliability, and financial goals. Collaborate with superintendents, planners, and asset management to ensure that budget forecasts reflect the latest mine plan and long-term maintenance strategies.

• Approved annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets;
• Quarterly budget reviews and variance analysis reports;
• Budget alignment with mine plan, asset lifecycle projections, and reliability targets.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

Ensure all planning and maintenance activities comply with Agnico Eagle’s Health & Safety Code of Conduct and environmental standards.

• HSE compliance audits;
• Incident tracking and corrective action plans;
• Integration of safety into planning and risk assessments.

Human Resources

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Agnico Eagle’s Health & Safety Code of Conduct. Promote safe work practices and environmental standards.

• HR performance reviews and training records;
• Succession plans;
• Managed employee work schedule;
• Resolution of behavioral issues and implementation of corrective action plans.

What You Need To Succeed

• Minium 10 years of experience in maintenance related functions, and in Continuous Improvement. At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role within planning or reliability;
• Maintenance planning and scheduling in mining or heavy industrial environments;
• Reliability engineering support and performance monitoring;
• Budget development and asset lifecycle management;
• CMMS implementation and optimization;
• Cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, and asset management teams;
• Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability principles, including RCA, and FMEA;
• Proficiency in analyzing and improving reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OEE);
• Advanced use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as JDE, SAP, or similar;
• Skilled in maintenance planning, scheduling, and backlog management;
• Ability to interpret and act on planning KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance, work order aging);
• Experience with asset lifecycle tracking and CMMS data integrity;
• Competency in budget planning, cost control, and variance analysis;
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools for data analysis and visualization;
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies;
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in industrial settings;
• Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, and asset management;
• Skilled in team development, coaching, and performance management;
• Effective verbal and written communication for reporting, coordination, and leadership;
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
• Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and tracking results.

Your Work Schedule

• Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
