A municipal government agency in Brantford seeks a General Service Technician responsible for maintaining transit buses and fleet vehicles, including cleaning and servicing duties. Reporting to the Fleet Service Coordinator - Transit, the General Service Technician will be responsible for fueling, cleaning, disinfecting and servicing transit buses, and other fleet vehicles. Duties will include checking engine oil, transmission, coolant and washer fluid levels, checking tire pressure and reporting defects. Cleaning duties will include the complete exterior and interior of Fleet vehicles, windows, floors, handrails, seats and driver platforms. Seasonal cleaning campaigns will include engine components, interior light fixtures, ceilings and seat shampooing. You will also be required to open and close the building, housekeeping of Service Center building, trash collection and disposal, sweeping, window cleaning and pressure washing of shop floors and assisting mechanical staff as required. The hours of work include, but are not limited to, evenings, nights, weekdays, and weekends.
As a condition of employment, proof of current and valid certificate(s) and / or educational qualifications will be required.
