Job summary

NL Health Services in Newfoundland and Labrador invites expressions of interest for two General Practitioners Oncology (GPO) – Full-Time within the central site (Grand Falls and Gander) of the Cancer Care Program.

The Physician will work primarily in the outpatient cancer clinic and will be responsible for medical management of patients receiving cancer care. Hours of work are normally 0800-1700 but may vary according to patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a licence to practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Responsibilities

• Function as General Practitioner in Oncology to support the Cancer Care Program.
• Handle urgent or emergent situations in chemotherapy areas, including hypersensitivity reactions.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the cancer clinic.
• Work Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, typically 08:00–17:00.
• Engage in educational activities within the Cancer Care Program, including Oncology Grand Rounds and Tumour Board Rounds.
