Job summary

Walmart Canada in Sussex, NB is seeking a General Merchandise Associate to deliver friendly customer service, help customers find products, and support stocking and merchandising across the general merchandise area.

This role involves maintaining a clean, organized sales floor, assisting with Front End coverage as needed, and upholding safety standards. The position requires flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays and pays at least the posted minimum of 16.05 CAD/hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product selection, promoting products and services, helping locate merchandise, supporting purchase decisions, and resolving or referring customer concerns.
• Cover assigned areas of the sales floor and assist with Front End coverage when required. Communicate with other associates to ensure floor coverage and customer needs are met.
• Zone assigned areas to maintain a clean and organized sales floor. Move feature merchandise to its modular location and process recovery merchandise.
• Stock merchandise and picks, complete downstocking as required, apply product protection when needed, and set and complete modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard‑free work environment by following Company policies and procedures, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure.
• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

Sales Floor Coverage and Team Support

Covers assigned areas of the sales floor and assists with Front End coverage when required. Communicates with other associates to ensure floor coverage is maintained and customer needs are met.

Merchandising, Zoning, and Recovery

Zones assigned areas to maintain a clean and organized sales floor. Moves feature merchandise to its modular location and processes recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other areas of the store.

Stocking and Modular Execution

Stocks merchandise and picks, completes downstocking as required, applies product protection when needed, and sets and completes modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps.

Safety, Cleanliness, and Compliance

Maintains a safe, clean, and hazard‑free work environment by following Company policies and procedures, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high‑quality service.

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
