The Josie Hotel, set at the base of Red Mountain ski resort, is seeking a General Manager to lead the property. In this role, the General Manager creates and maintains a customer-driven hotel with a vision that inspires the associates to do their best. The position includes overseeing the quality process to ensure customer satisfaction by consistent delivery of both product quality and service in accordance with the hotel's profitability goals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative duties including reading and writing reports, dictating memorandums and orally communicating with guests, managers, corporate office, local associations, etc.
  • Critically review reports of occupancy, revenue, etc. Make judgments and implement changes to maximize profits. Supervise development of and revision to business plans, annual budgets and forecasts. Formulate complex reports. Communicate with the public, staff, corporate office and owners.
  • Interview, hire, supervise and counsel department managers in the efficient operation of their respective area(s). Meet with, develop and delegate improvement plans for operation and review performance of management team.
  • Recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and approve discipline and all terminations.
  • Participate in community affairs and maintain a positive public image for Crescent and the hotel. Meet with potential and current clients and promote the hotel.
  • Communicate clearly to staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physically tour and visually inspect property daily. Monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness and quality of product and service throughout the hotel. Greet and maintain rapport with associates and customers.
  • Travel to attend corporate meetings and sales trips; serve on committees such as Research, Development and Standards.
  • Handle associate issues in conjunction with Human Resources following Crescent policies.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Keen eye for detail and empowering coaching mentality.
  • Strong desire to continuously improve and help others improve.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a hotel General Manager or equivalent experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of project management and lease management.
  • Working knowledge of financial/accounting procedures.
