Job description
The Company :

Our client, a not-for-profit company, was established in order to deliver industry good functions on behalf of the Australian grains supply chain. Its core functions are to establish and maintain a grain variety classification system, provide services that maintain and improve trade and market access, develop long term market and consumer analysis and product awareness, support longer term demand and value creation and to ensure technical support and training to participants in the Australian grains industry. Currently in a key phase of expansion, now is an exciting time to join the organisation.

The Role :

In this newly created role, the General Manager, Strategy & Communications will be responsible for delivering the annual strategic and operating plans for the organisation. As a key member of the Executive team, you will establish internal systems to apply the developed strategies and implement stakeholder engagement plans, and may represent the organisation and brand at key industry events. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the communication and stakeholder engagement function, whilst integrating the outputs gained from the Commodity Councils and Grains Market Access Council. Working closely with a dedicated team on a broad range of projects, you will drive a targeted, strategic stakeholder communications plan based on the key underlying requirements of the industry, some national travel may be required.

  • Proven industry and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to understand, relate to, and connect with a broad range of industry entities
  • Exemplary organisational and planning skills
  • Advanced skills in administration, prioritisation, adaptability and situational awareness
