Job Description

Houseful is a digital real estate and homebuying platform on a mission to make buying and owning a home more straightforward and accessible for Canadians. From affordability calculators and home listings to equity insights and financial product integration, Houseful is building the most complete homeownership experience in the country.

What is the Opportunity

We’re seeking a visionary and execution-driven General Manager (GM) to lead Houseful through its next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is a passionate leader with a deep understanding of the Canadian real estate ecosystem, a track record of scaling early- to growth-stage technology or products companies, and the ability to align business strategy with exceptional customer experience. This role requires experience working with product-led strategies focused on customer engagement and acquisition. Houseful is backed by the scale, trust, and resources of RBC but operates with the agility of a startup under the RBCx Portfolio of Companies. If you’re driven to reshape one of the most critical decisions in people’s lives, this is your moment.

What Will You Do?
  • Own and evolve Houseful’s strategic roadmap in partnership with RBCx and RBC Home Equity Finance (HEF), aligning business goals with product innovation and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain a strong, collaborative partnership with RBC HEF to ensure Houseful becomes a key channel for client acquisition and mortgage growth.
  • Lead a dynamic cross-functional team across product, sales, strategic finance, and operations.
  • Drive customer acquisition, engagement, and monetization by developing and executing go-to-market strategies.
  • Represent Houseful to senior stakeholders at RBC, partners, and the public, as needed.
  • Ensure operational excellence and performance tracking across all functions.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
  • Proven experience as a strategic leader, general manager, or executive in an early or growth-stage tech company.
  • Strong technical acumen, comfortable with leading in a product- or data-led environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian real estate market, customer dynamics, and homebuying lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling cross-functional teams and engaging credibly with product, engineering, and design (PED) teams.
  • Track record of growing customer-centric platforms and driving engagement through product innovation and actionable data insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—comfortable reporting to board-level and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Passion for transforming how Canadians engage with homeownership and financial services.
Must Have
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance or Economics.
  • 12+ years of experience in product, operations, or strategy, preferably in a startup environment.
  • Proven track record of scaling product-led growth (PLG) through experimentation and data-informed decisioning.
  • Experience defining customer segmentation, acquisition, and retention models.
Nice-to-Have
  • An advanced degree, such as an MBA.
  • Experience in fintech marketplace or PLG business models.
  • Background in financial services or regulatory environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of predictive analytics, churn forecasting, and revenue modeling.
