Salary: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00

How You’ll Make an Impact

In your new role, you will lead your team through a strong safety culture to deliver excellence to our client, a large retail food service operation within an Acute Care space. This role requires strong business acumen, client/customer service skills and culinary expertise.

As our Retail Food Service Manager, you will lead with:

  • Responsible for successfully coordinating and directing retail food service operations for the site
  • Manage the team within a union environment; proficient with union management and processes for employee relations within the collective agreement
  • Experience with a branded food concept is an asset (e.g., Coffee Shop Brands)
  • Direct daily operations including working with the executive chef on menus and promotions, purchasing/ordering, inventory, scheduling
  • Manage financials for the retail program including labour cost, food cost, inventory, equipment and materials
  • Supervise, mentor, and monitor supervisors and evaluate performance to ensure productivity and effective use of team members
  • Ensure that the annual retail objectives are achieved
  • Maintain operating standards and implement quality improvements
  • Promote and assist in the marketing of the retail program
  • Analyze retail performance; identify efficiencies and areas of opportunity
  • Ensure compliance with Company and Client standards and Provincial/Federal Legislation
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety and Physical Safety Policies and Procedures
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a busy retail environment in a management role; multiple offerings is an asset
  • Ability to lead a team to deliver an innovative and high-quality retail program, including branded concepts, and inspire continuous improvement
  • Experience in running and evaluating successful promotions
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, team-centric and safety-driven environment
  • Proven organizational skills and strong computer/technology capabilities including Microsoft Office and Social Media
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, clients and staff
  • Ability to work, problem solve and provide solutions independently
  • Genuine desire to provide customer service experiences beyond expectations
  • Passion for food, people and service excellence
  • Desire to grow and learn
