Job description

Venor is proud to partner with Omni Quality Living in the Greater Moncton Area in their search for a General Manager to join their team. Providing both independent and assisted living services, the residence is committed to creating a welcoming community where residents feel at home, families have confidence in the care and support being provided, and employees feel connected to the people they serve. Residents benefit from personalized care, recreational programming, healthcare support and a range of services designed to promote safety, independence and quality of life. The General Manager will work within one of their four residences based in the Greater Moncton Area and will provide overall leadership for the residence, overseeing a multidisciplinary team across care, hospitality, recreation, administration and sales. This is an opportunity for an energetic, hands-on leader who enjoys building strong teams, creating an exceptional resident experience and driving the operational and financial performance of a community.

What you’ll be doing
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of the residence, ensuring a safe, welcoming and well-managed environment for residents, families and employees.
  • Lead, coach and support managers and frontline employees across nursing and care, kitchen and dining, recreation, administration and sales.
  • Build and maintain a strong team through effective recruitment, onboarding, employee development, coaching and performance management.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability while fostering a collaborative, engaged and resident-focused workplace culture.
  • Oversee key performance areas including financial results, occupancy, resident and family satisfaction, employee engagement, staffing and health and safety.
  • Monitor scheduling and staffing levels to ensure the residence is appropriately resourced to meet operational and resident-care requirements.
  • Take an active role in marketing the residence, building its profile within the community and identifying opportunities to increase occupancy.
  • Build trusted relationships with residents and their families, maintaining regular communication and responding promptly and professionally to questions, concerns, complaints and suggestions.
  • Facilitate resident meetings as required to encourage open communication and address feedback or concerns.
  • Represent the residence professionally with residents, families, guests, healthcare professionals, referral partners, regulators and the broader community.
  • Lead and participate in provincial and municipal inspections, ensuring areas of non-compliance or recommendations are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure complaints and operational matters are managed in accordance with applicable Adult Residential Facility Guidelines, legislation, policies and standards.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve operations, resident experience, employee engagement and the overall performance of the residence.
What we are looking for
  • A college diploma or university degree in business, healthcare administration, hospitality, management or another related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of management experience with demonstrated responsibility for leading teams and managing employee performance.
  • At least two years of experience working within a senior living, long-term care, healthcare, medical or similar care environment.
  • Strong operational leadership skills with the ability to balance resident experience, people leadership, financial performance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with marketing, sales, business development or community engagement, ideally within senior living, healthcare or a related service environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, coach and retain strong teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with residents, families, employees and community partners.
  • A resident- and customer-focused leadership approach with the ability to address concerns professionally, compassionately and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
  • Familiarity with applicable New Brunswick legislation and regulatory requirements, including Employment Standards, the Public Health Act, Adult Residential Facility Guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • A proactive, results-oriented leadership style and a willingness to be visible and engaged throughout the residence and broader community.

This is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in the Greater Moncton Area. Given the nature of the role and responsibility for the overall operation of the residence, occasional evening and weekend availability and on-call support will be required.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

The position provides paid vacation, group health benefits and an RRSP matching program up to 4% of your salary.
