Job summary

A defense technology company in London, Ontario is seeking an organized Financial Analyst to manage monthly reporting, uphold compliance activities, and support financial audits. The ideal candidate has a degree in Finance or Accounting, at least 1-2 years of relevant experience, and strong skills in Microsoft Excel. A CPA designation is preferred. This role may require occasional travel and offers a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  • Ability to travel (5% US & International) and maintain a valid passport.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly reporting and reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Support the monthly accounting close process and ensure completeness.
  • Oversee accounting of insurance through corporate program.

Key Job Elements
  • Monthly reporting including reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Support monthly accounting close including communicating close schedule, running ERP project processes ensuring project accounting completeness and accuracy
  • Manage monthly compliance activities surrounding account reconciliations, journal entries, revenue events and Project CIP reconciliations
  • Oversee the accounting of insurance through corporate program
  • Assess accounting impacts of items within the ERP system on the site financials and troubleshoot as necessary; present findings to management
  • Provide technical guidance to Finance department with respect to project accounting
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Other activities to support finance team as needed
Required Qualifications
  • University degree and or college diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • High skill level with Microsoft Office applications (strong focus on Excel)
  • Strong team player capable of performing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel (5% US & Int'l) and be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Qualifications
  • University degree
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or in progress Strong MS Office skills, including MS Excel
  • Experience with general ledger / project accounting in an ERP system environment
