Job summary

Wajax is seeking a Yard Person in Canada to maintain the equipment yard's organization, cleanliness, and safety, while assisting with loading and unloading and performing general property upkeep to support branch operations.

You will organize machinery, handle shipping/receiving, perform site upkeep, inspect equipment, and support Lean/5S initiatives. Requires high school education; forklift certification is a plus; able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; forklift certification is an asset.
• 14–28 months of experience in an industrial yard or warehouse.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
• Strong teamwork and communication to coordinate with drivers, technicians, and sales staff.
• Experience with Technical/Safety/Logistics/Warehousing and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Yard Organization: Arrange heavy machinery, attachments, and industrial products logically.
• Shipping & Receiving: Safely load, unload, and secure equipment on delivery trucks.
• Site Upkeep: Sweep driveways, pick up debris, and maintain clear access routes.
• Equipment Care: Pressure wash incoming and outgoing machinery and check fluid levels.
• Safety & Compliance: Monitor the yard for hazards and follow all corporate safety protocols.
• Inventory Support: Assist the parts and sales teams with verifying equipment serial numbers.
• Continuous Improvement: Support Lean/5S projects which may include sweeping floors, emptying trash, cleaning vehicles, maintaining organization of new products in the yard, and implementing changes to improve the Branch.

• Physical Fitness: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Communication: Strong teamwork skills to coordinate with drivers, technicians, and sales staff.
• Knowledge: Experience in Technical/Safety/Logistics/Warehousing, MS Office.
• Rental/Whole goods receiving, as well as experience in fast‑paced environments leading with Safety/5S advantageous.

Compensation

Hourly pay range at $18–$22/hr, with higher levels receiving increased compensation with an Annual Incentive Bonus. Pay may vary based on skills, expertise, and performance, and is a component of the total rewards package. This is a current replacement (or ‘New’ if applicable) vacancy.
