Gemtron Canada Corporation in Midland, ON is hiring a General labourer – manufacturing. The role is permanent full-time with shifts covering Day to Night, and a pay rate of $18.63–$20.00 hourly. 80 hours bi-weekly. Start date as soon as possible.

The job entails material handling, weighing, packaging, assisting operators, and glass processing tasks in a high-noise, odourful environment. English fluency and a high school diploma are required, with 1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment around the plant, manually or with powered equipment.
• Check and weigh materials and products.
• Sort, pack, crate, and package materials and products.
• Assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers.
• Perform other labouring and elemental activities.
• Clean machines and surrounding work areas.
• Heat, anneal, temper, or form float glass or glass products.
• Operate glass cutting equipment including tempering processes.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate will be expected to supervise printing machine operators.
• The candidate must be able to lift weights of up to 9 kg (20 lbs), 13.5 kg (30 lbs), and 23 kg (50 lbs)
• The candidate must be punctual.
