Job summary

Rainbow Greenhouses in Chilliwack, BC is seeking a General Labourer to support plant production, order fulfilment, and inventory control in a fast-paced greenhouse setting.

You'll assist with seeding, transplanting, handling cuttings, and maintaining high-quality plants while collaborating with a team to improve efficiency and workflow. This full-time role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adaptability in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Adaptable and self-directed with strong organizational abilities.
• Physically able to perform manual labour, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Detail-oriented and goal-focused with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions.
• Production experience, preferably in a greenhouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with seeding (by hand or machine) and planting plugs or transplants
• Prepare and handle plant cuttings for propagation
• Perform production tasks while working with crops throughout the production process
• Space, grade, sort, pinch, straighten, trim, weed, and move plants as required
• Pick and prepare plants for orders, including loading carts, labeling, and sleeving
• Monitor plants for quality concerns and report issues to the Greenhouse Supervisor
• Support the cultivation and maintenance of potted plants to ensure high-quality standards
• Assist with inventory control and product distribution
• Collaborate with team members to optimize growing conditions and workflow efficiency
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and company best practices

About the Opportunity
