Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a General Helper for our Moosonee, ON project. The role operates on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule with 11-hour days, and transportation to site is provided.

You will assist in kitchen operations, cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, and safety compliance. A minimum of 6 months in food service, fluent English, and FoodSafe Level I are required; WHMIS is preferred. Benefits include extended health and dental coverage and travel time paid.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months kitchen or catering experience in Food Service Industry, hospitality or remote lodge setting.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• At least FoodSafe Level I. SafeCheck advanced food safety or HACCP an asset.
• Ability to prioritize multiple demands and organize a work schedule.
• Must be able to obtain 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test.

Responsibilities

• Wash, scrub, clean, and sanitize designated kitchen and dining areas.
• Clean kitchen and dining room floors and tables.
• Clean refrigerators, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
• Wash pots, dishes, glasses, cups, etc., after each meal and as required.
• Deep cleaning as required.
• Restock and rotate desserts, sandwiches, beverages, and condiments.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and placing supplies and inventory.
• Ensure health and safety regulations and quality standards are maintained.

WHAT’S THE JOB?
Based in a world class Dexterra camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 2 weeks on and 2 weekss off, with 11-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to site from a pickup point.

General Helperis responsible for assisting in the overall kitchen operations and maintenance as well as cleaning and sanitizing of designated kitchen areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes.

This posting is for future opportunities within the company at our project in Moosonee, ON.
