Job description
General Counsel (Founding Legal & Compliance)

Niagara Falls, Ontario — On‑Site, Full‑Time

Reports to: Founder & CEO

About See Sight Tours

I started See Sight Tours in Niagara Falls with one van and a simple idea - that small‑group travel could be personal, local, and authentic. Today, we’re one of North America’s fastest‑growing tour operators, running immersive experiences across dozens of cities.

We operate in a fast, complex environment that touches everything from transportation compliance to cross‑border logistics. We’re now ready for our first in‑house lawyer, someone who can protect what we’ve built, help us scale safely, and see legal as a strategic advantage, not a bottleneck.

The Opportunity

This is not a back‑office legal role. You’ll be in the middle of real business problems every day - operations, licensing, contracts, and active disputes. You’ll bring structure, reduce risk, and help us move faster with confidence.

If you’ve ever wanted to build a legal and compliance function from scratch inside a high‑growth company - this is it.

What You’ll Own
Compliance & Risk
  • Oversee vehicle, driver, and tourism licensing across Canada and the U.S.
  • Manage renewals for insurance, permits, and certifications.
  • Centralize and respond to all legal notices, tickets, and municipal matters quickly.
  • Track compliance deadlines and build an internal reporting system.
  • Train staff on compliance, safety, and privacy practices.
Legal Affairs & Disputes
  • Handle and appear (when needed) in small claims, bylaw, and tribunal matters.
  • Support ongoing IP protection, defamation, and competitive interference cases.
  • Coordinate external counsel on complex litigation and cross‑border matters.
  • Lead recovery of damages when the company is wronged.
Contracts & Commercial
  • Draft and negotiate agreements with partners, vendors, and attractions.
  • Create contract templates for recurring relationships.
  • Advise leadership on legal risk in business decisions and new markets.
Corporate & Strategic
  • Manage corporate records and registrations across all entities.
  • Support expansion into new U.S. markets and upcoming projects under TripShepherd.
  • Oversee trademarks, IP filings, and brand protection.
  • Build practical systems to make compliance part of how we win.
Who You Are
  • LL.B. or J.D., member in good standing with a Canadian law society (Ontario or Nova Scotia ideal).
  • 4–10 years of post‑call experience in corporate, regulatory, or transportation law.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you see legal as leverage, not red tape.
  • Skilled in contract drafting, compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Comfortable appearing in court or managing matters end‑to‑end.
  • Hands‑on, decisive, and unafraid to take ownership.
  • Excited to work directly with the founder in a fast‑paced, scrappy environment.
Why This Role Matters

Legal at See Sight Tours is about protecting our freedom to operate and making sure bureaucracy never slows us down. You’ll have full access, full trust, and a chance to create something lasting.

“We’re at the point where legal isn’t just protection - it’s leverage. We need someone who can fight for us, fix systems, and make our growth bulletproof.”

— Daud Grewal, Founder & CEO

What’s In It For You
  • Competitive compensation with bonus potential tied to cost savings and recoveries.
  • Full health, dental, and RRSP matching.
  • Work directly with the CEO and leadership team.
  • Build the foundation for a department that will expand as we grow internationally.
  • Real autonomy, real impact, and a front‑row seat to a scaling travel company.
