Job summary

Choices Market in North Vancouver is hiring two part-time General Clerks. No experience is required and on-the-job training will be provided. You may work in Deli, Grocery, Cash, Produce, or Dairy, with responsibilities spanning stocking, displays, customer inquiries, till operation, and deli food prep.

The ideal candidate is friendly, service-oriented, hardworking, and a strong team player, able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand all day. Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves and rotate products on the grocery floor.
• Ensure sale items are well represented on shelves and in displays.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries.
• Run a till and assist Front End department as needed.
• Wash, trim and cull produce; prepare and cook deli foods.
• Clean retail areas and work spaces daily.

Choices Market in North Vancouver currently has an opening for two engaging people to join our General Clerk team in a part-time capacity. No experience is necessary and on the job training will be provided.

Our General Clerks work in a variety of departments so no day is the same! You may be assigned to work in one of several departments such as Deli, Grocery, Cash, Produce, or Dairy.
Responsibilities include:

• stocking shelves and rotating products on the grocery floor;
• ensuring items on sale are well represented on shelves and in displays;
• responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries;
• running a till and providing additional assistance to the Front End department as required;
• washing, trimming and culling produce;
• preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold foods in our deli; and,
• cleaning retail areas and work spaces on a daily basis.

The ideal employee for this position is:

• service-oriented, and comfortable talking to customers;
• hardworking and a good team player;
• comfortable in a physically demanding job that includes bending, crouching and reaching;
• capable of lifting up to 50 lbs; and
