Job summary

A growing organization in the distribution and operations sector is seeking a General Accountant to join its finance team. This role builds on technical foundation while gaining exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end processes, and multi-entity accounting operations.

Reporting to the General Ledger Manager, you will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, support close activities, and analyze results.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation or active pursuit preferred.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in industry or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP/financial reporting systems is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Exposure to multi-entity or distribution environments is an asset.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Ledger Manager, this position will support the accounting team with financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records while supporting ongoing operational and reporting requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries and general ledger transactions
• Perform account reconciliations and review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including financial reporting and analysis
• Assist in preparing trial balances, balance sheets, and other standard financial reports
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting files
• Investigate discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting-related issues
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather information and support financial processes
• Provide day-to-day accounting and administrative support to the finance team
• Contribute to process improvements and support ongoing operational initiatives as needed

What You Bring

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
