Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster: 8 days on and 6 days off

This position is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, and compliant Electrical maintenance and inspections on the hydrogen gas plant, hydrogen liquid plant and Green Iron processing facilities. Comprising Hazardous Areas equipment, Safety Integrity Functionality and High Voltage Arc furnaces it would be desirable that the candidate has experience with Hazardous Areas work, high voltage, Instrumentation, communications and PLC / SCADA functionality.

Due to the scale and specialist nature of our operations, the team functions as Operators and Maintainers within the Hydrogen Production facility so day-to-day operation of this facility is also a job requirement. This does not include the Green Iron Production facility which has dedicated operational roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • High safety focus and risk perception at all times
  • Carry out planned maintenance, statutory inspections and breakdown repairs on hydrogen gas plant, hydrogen liquid plant and Green Iron processing facilities
  • Use of SAP to create notifications, close out work orders and time confirmations
  • Actively participate in daily, toolbox and safety meetings
  • Comply with company procedures, policies and lifesaving choices at all times
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments prior to undertaking tasks
  • Report all hazards and incidents within the workplace
  • Coach, mentor and develop apprentices to become high quality tradespeople.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Current West Australian A Grade unrestricted electrical license
  • Senior first aid / CPR /LVR
  • Cert IV in Hazardous Areas – Electrical (desirable)
  • HV Switching (desirable)
  • WA Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills; including report writing
  • Ability to time manage, organise & prioritise workload
  • Competent in reading technical manuals/plans/schematics/ P&ID
  • Sound problem solving skills.
