Role Summary

Bouchier is currently seeking a certified Gasfitter Class A to join our team. This role involves the installation, testing, maintenance, and servicing of natural gas and propane equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The successful candidate will be qualified to work on large-scale systems exceeding 400,000 BTUs and will bring a strong commitment to safety, quality, and technical excellence.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work on a wide range of gas-fired appliances and systems, including residential furnaces, industrial boilers, heating systems, gas dispensing equipment, and bulk storage systems.
  • Fabricate, install, and maintain fuel piping systems for both low- and high-pressure natural gas and propane.
  • Handle complex systems with advanced burner management, safety, and control mechanisms.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine gas line layouts; install piping, vents, flues, and gas appliances.
  • Test systems for leaks and pressure using specialized tools; adjust controls and perform routine inspections.
  • Troubleshoot systems, replace or repair defective parts such as burners, valves, and controls.
  • Ensure all work complies with provincial safety regulations (e.g., Alberta Gas Protection Act), manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Respond to emergency service calls, including gas leaks or equipment failures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on work completed and system conditions.
Education & Experience
  • Gasfitter Class A designation, or provincial red seal equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
  • Previous oil sands site experience will be considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Clean 5-year Driver's Abstract Required
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certificate is required
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with clients, coworkers, and other trades.
  • Manual dexterity and physical strength to manage heavy lifting, confined spaces, and working at heights.
