Job summary

South Country Co-op in Brooks, AB is seeking a Full-Time Gas Bar Supervisor to lead daily operations, deliver exceptional service, and support a high-performing team.

Reporting to the Gas Bar/C-Store Manager, you will supervise cash handling, inventory, merchandising, and the training of new staff while performing gas bar duties.

This role requires retail or gas station experience, leadership skills, and the ability to work in all weather, with a focus on safety and member service.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in convenience or gas setting is required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong numeracy and ability to operate a calculator and POS.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer service to guests.
• Supervise daily Gas Bar operations and support the Manager.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving shipments.
• Safely handle and fill propane tanks per safety standards.
• Operate POS, manage cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately.
• Assist with merchandising, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Gas Bar, pumps, car wash, and propane station.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new team members.
• Ensure compliance with Co-op policies and safety procedures.
• Perform Gas Bar Attendant duties as required.

Job description

Position Summary:

South Country Co-op is seeking a customer-focused and team-oriented Full-Time Gas Bar Supervisor to join our team at the Brooks Gas Bar in Brooks, AB. Reporting to the Gas Bar/C-Store Manager, the Gas Bar Supervisor plays a key supervisory role in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting a high-performing team.

This position is responsible for assisting in sales, inventory control, merchandising, administrative tasks, and Gas Bar standards. The Supervisor will also perform the duties of a Gas Bar Attendant, including fueling support, operating the POS system, stocking, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide world-class customer service to all guests
• Supervise daily operations of the Gas Bar, supporting the Gas Bar Manager
• Assist in inventory control, placing orders, and receiving shipments
• Perform safe handling and filling of propane tanks in accordance with safety standards
• Operate POS systems and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately
• Help with merchandising, stocking, and maintaining clean, organized displays
• Maintain cleanliness of the Gas Bar, fuel pumps, car wash, and propane station
• Support the training and onboarding of new team members
• Ensure all operations follow Co-op policies and safety procedures
• Perform duties of a Gas Bar Attendant as required
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally
• Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Minimum 2 years of retail experience, ideally in a convenience or gas station setting
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and lift up to 30 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to successfully obtain certification in the safe handling and filling of propane tanks
• Strong numeracy skills and ability to operate calculators, POS terminals, and registers
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to lead and work in a diverse team environment
• Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn in a fast-paced setting
• Proven leadership skills with a focus on team engagement and motivation

Work Schedule:

This position requires full availability, including days, evenings, and weekends.
