Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC is seeking a Camera Design Engineering Intern to contribute to RTL design and development for camera hardware. You will analyze power, area, and performance, evaluate synthesis results, and create scripts to automate tasks.

You will gain hands-on experience with ASIC design methodologies and EDA tools, using Tcl, Perl and Python to streamline workflows. This 16‑month program starts May/June 2027 in Vancouver, with housing stipend and mentorship.

Qualifications

• VLSI related activities are desirable.
• Experience in TCL, Perl, Python, SystemVerilog.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science or related field; 16-month internship window May/June 2027 to Aug/Sep 2028; graduation Nov 2028 or later.
• Programming experience in C, C++, Python (1+ years).

Role Overview

As a Camera Design Engineering Intern on Qualcomm’s Camera team, you will contribute to RTL design and development for camera hardware. Your responsibilities may include analyzing power, area, and performance to support design optimization, evaluating synthesis results, and developing scripts to automate design and analysis tasks. You will gain hands‑on experience with ASIC design methodologies and EDA tools, using scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, and Python to improve workflow efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Any academic and/or project experience in VLSI related activities is desirable.
• Experience in TCL, Perl, Python, system Verilog.

Education Requirements

• In study towards a bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related field
• For 16-month internships: must be available May/June 2027 - August/September 2028
• Expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.
• 1+ years of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, etc

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits

$54,600.00 - $103,350.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales‑incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
