Job summary

Hydro Extrusions in North York, Ontario, is seeking a production operator to support melting and casting of aluminum by operating furnaces and cranes. The role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year in manufacturing, with strong English communication and safety focus.

The position offers rotating biweekly shifts (days/nights) and a starting pay of $27.53 per hour, plus a retirement plan, education assistance, and bonus eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate furnaces used to melt aluminum for casting and production processes.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and monitor furnace conditions.
• Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials safely.
• Manage the transfer and alloying of molten aluminum during production operations.
• Support general production activities while following all Health & Safety procedures.

Starting Rate of Pay:

$27.53/hour

Shifts Available and Hours:

This position operates on a rotating biweekly shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts as follows:

• Week 1: 4 days (48 hours) – 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM
• Week 2: 3 days (36 hours) – 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM
• Week 3: 4 days (48 hours) – 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
• Week 4: 3 days (36 hours) – 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM

What you will be doing

• Operate furnaces used to melt aluminum for casting and production processes
• Perform pre-operational inspections and monitor furnace conditions

Required Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Ability to work rotating shifts as required
• Experience operating industrial equipment or overhead cranes
• Ability to work in high-heat environments (30–40°C+) near furnaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong attention to safety and operational procedures
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
