We are seeking empathetic employees to assist in our services or ceremonies. The Funeral Services Assistant duties must be performed in adherence to company policies and procedures. Duties include meeting the public, answering questions and providing information on funeral and cremation information.

This role is best suited for someone looking to work for us for several years, providing very open availability despite the lack of guaranteed hours. Due to the income limitations and availability required, this role will not be suited for everyone.

We are looking for a permanent long-term hire, with open availability who specifically wants part-time / on-call hours. When you apply, please make it clear in your application why this role would be a fit for you. General applications without a cover letter are less likely to be shortlisted.

Job Responsibilities

• Helps the team prepare for services
• Delivers and sets up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other personal keepsakes
• Ensures proper care and storage of any of the above items
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, as directed by management
• Run errands such as for floral delivery, picking up of supplies, documents, etc
• Serves as an usher and may park cars or perform any transportation requirements.
• Drives Funeral Home vehicles for services and picking up families
• Ensures refreshments are available
• Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services which may include; visitation and chapel set up, dressing and casketing remains, delivering family items and flowers.
• Greets and receives client families and / or other persons entering the office for information and assistance
• Accommodates the needs of a family during a service and/or visitation
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required from time to time
