Arbor Memorial’s Highland Funeral Home – Markham Chapel in Markham, Ontario invites a dedicated Funeral Director to lead and direct all aspects of funeral services, including filing death certificates, embalmings, and obituary handling. This is a full-time, permanent role within a compassionate team dedicated to families during end-of-life journeys.

The position emphasizes strong customer care, teamwork, and adherence to Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, belonging and excellence.

Qualifications

• Possesses a Funeral Directors license.
• Displays proven, superior arrangement, directing and embalming skills.
• Passion for customer care demonstrated in previous professional experiences.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization.
• Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
• Excellent knowledge of Funeral Home procedures and business practices including Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Arranges, coordinates and directs funeral ceremonies.
• Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve.
• Maintains active involvement within the community and is committed to building and establishing effective relationships and rapport.
• Supports the Funeral Service Department’s vision of technology integration by understanding the role technology plays in the funeral home’s success.

About this role:

As a Funeral Director at Highland Funeral Home - Markham Chapel, located in Markham, Ontario, you will have the opportunity to provide meaningful support to families on their end-of -life journey by overseeing and directing all aspects of funeral services, including: filing death certificates, maintaining online obituary listings, performing decedent embalming and providing assistance during the execution of funeral services.
