The Fundraising Copywriter develops compelling, donor-centered messaging that inspires generosity and strengthens engagement with MCC’s mission. The role combines strategic thinking, storytelling, and collaboration to create effective fundraising content across print and digital channels. Working closely with colleagues across Communications, Donor Relations, and Programs, the position ensures messaging reflects MCC’s voice, values, and brand while building meaningful connections between donors and MCC’s work.

Major Responsibilities:
The Fundraising Copywriter works collaboratively with Communications and Donor Relations colleagues across MCC Canada and with program staff nationally and internationally to develop donor focused communications that accurately represent MCC’s work.
No supervisory responsibilities.
The position requires the ability to synthesize complex program information into clear, compelling communications for diverse audiences while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines. The incumbent exercises sound judgement when communicating sensitive issues, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and effectively navigates MCC’s organizational structure. Familiarity with AI supported writing tools and the ability to use them ethically and appropriately to enhance efficiency is an asset.
The Fundraising Copywriter works with a high degree of independence while managing multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines. The incumbent exercises initiative and sound judgement in planning and prioritizing work, while ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with organizational priorities.
The incumbent demonstrates creativity, curiosity, and initiative in developing engaging fundraising content while remaining responsive to changing priorities and organizational needs. The role requires adaptability, a collaborative approach to problem solving, and the ability to tailor messaging to diverse donor audiences while continuously seeking opportunities to strengthen donor engagement.
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are essential. The incumbent communicates with clarity, professionalism, and empathy while demonstrating intercultural competence and the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and organizational levels. Active listening, diplomacy, and consensus building skills contribute to effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.

The head office for MCC Canada is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, however, a remote work arrangement may be available for a suitable candidate. Some travel to MCC offices may still be required. Winnipeg is a city of approximately 835,000 people located on the Red River, 112 kilometers north of the U.S. border. Being near the centre of Canada, it is a major transportation hub. The city’s population is diverse and has the largest urban Indigenous population in Canada.
