Job summary

Islamic Relief Canada is seeking a dynamic Fund Development Volunteer Coordinator to strengthen our regional fundraising and volunteer programs. You will support community relations, build partnerships, recruit and manage volunteers, and help plan and execute local campaigns and events across the region.

Reporting to the Regional FD Manager, you will drive donor engagement, coordinate mosque and community fundraising activities, and promote IRC messaging through social platforms while ensuring

He/she will be responsible for supporting the fulfillment of the organizational objectives of developing and optimising on community fundraising and volunteer initiativesThis position will be the point of contact and representative of IRC with their regional volunteer teams.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Community RelationsMaintain existing donor relationships and partnerships with a focus on an allocated area within the regionExplore and develop new relationships and partnerships with the goal of widening the community outreach and increasing the number of new donors to Islamic ReliefManage the stakeholder relationships by holding regular meetings, providing feedback on donations and exploring what Islamic Relief can offer themManage mosque and community relationsOrganizing Jummah or Taraweeh collections for campaigns.Distribute material for specific campaigns at mosques and other gatherings (Ramadan, Qurbani, Emergencies)Set up fundraisers at mosques and in the community to raise funds and awarenessMeet fundraising targets and ensure return on investment is met with individuals and/or networks we partner withFormalize partnerships with individuals and networks by following the necessary protocols i.e. establishing a Memorandum of Understanding or contractsProvide fundraising support to stakeholders working with Islamic ReliefRespond to fundraising and other inquiries in relation to regional activitiesCommunicate performance and provide regular updates to Line ManagerUtilize all regional and personal social media platforms to promote Islamic Relief messaging, campaigns, activities and appealsVolunteers and NetworkingBuild a regional volunteer team by recruiting, training and managing membersLead the regional volunteer team in planning and executing grass roots community eventsLead regional volunteer team in executing larger IRC events, challenges and toursAssist with any fundraising activities taking place in the regionLead volunteer team to promote and obtain attendance at or with all IRC fundraising events and initiativesAttend and network at local and IRC events to build relationships, recruit for new volunteersEvent Planning and ExecutionLead regional volunteer teams in managing events locally or event participation in consultation with line managerRepresent the organization at IR and non-IR eventsEnsure that appropriate materials and equipment are available for eventsLoading, delivering and returning materials and equipment to and from functionsMaintaining supplies of fundraising/promotional materials at all timesQualifications & CompetenciesExperience:Experience in establishing and developing relationships with key stakeholdersDemonstrate experience in project coordination i.e. events and campaignsExperience of organising and supervising eventsExperience of recruiting, managing and developing volunteersKnowledge, Skills and Attributes:Knowledge and understanding of the local region and communityExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and manage volunteersExcellent communication skills Excellent presentation skillsStrong motivation and empathy toward the aims and objectives of the organizationNumerical skills, the ability to work accurately under pressure and pay attention to detailAbility to represent Islamic Relief in a wide range of situations IT literate with ability to use Google Suite, databases and project management tools to deliver on KPIsStrong organizational skills i.e. ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc.Other:Current local driving license and access to a vehicleHave a flexible approach to work in order to accommodate events, functions and work activityWillingness to travel nationally at short noticeStarting Salary:$55,334.00Please note: The posted starting salary is intended to provide potential candidates with a general understanding of the compensation associated with the position.
