Job summary

Catholic Social Services in Red Deer is seeking a full-time Child and Youth Care Worker for a temporary contract in our Children's Residential Services team. You will provide client-centered care in a supportive team environment.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Disability Services, Social Work or Human Services, plus 2 years of experience with youth with complex needs; you will support safety, development, meals, routines, and activities, with vehicle access for client transport.

Qualifications

• A Diploma/Degree in Disability Services, Social Work or Human Services (or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and/or youth with complex needs.
• Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR
• Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or city police detachment
• Child Intervention Record Check
• Clear and Current Drivers Abstract
• A vehicle and valid class 5 driver's license – requirement to transport clients in your personal vehicle
• Proof of Vehicle Insurance showing $2 million liability coverage
• Proof of Vehicle Registration for insured vehicle

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered care within residential settings.
• Support a safe environment and positive attachments.
• Provide nutritious meals and snacks.
• Maintain age-appropriate boundaries and supervision.
• Follow an orderly daily schedule promoting participation in activities.
• Assist with basic personal needs.
