Location: 381 Church Street, Markham, ON, CA
Schedule: Continental Rotation (07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00)
Pay Rate: $19.19/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot to ensure safety of personnel, buildings, and equipment
  • Respond quickly and effectively to coded emergencies and other incidents
  • Write detailed reports and conduct investigations into security breaches, hazards, and irregularities
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas; enforce hospital policies and procedures
  • Communicate site activities using two-way radios and computer applications
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with patients, visitors, staff, and emergency personnel
  • Provide assistance and support to individuals in distress or requiring medical aid
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when responding to high-stress situations
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and readiness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
  • Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Proof of immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and 2-step Tuberculosis Skin Test
  • Must provide or be willing to obtain certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
    • Candidates without these certifications may opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training program before onboarding (training costs covered with a 6-month employment commitment; training time unpaid)
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Authorized to work legally in Canada
