Responsibilities
  • Monitor patient safety and report changes to Protective Services or Clinical staff
  • Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance
  • Enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures
  • Handle confidential information with discretion
  • Use two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activity
  • Professionally screen visitors and clients
  • Respond to and de-escalate high-stress situations
  • Ensure safety of staff, patients, and visitors using verbal de-escalation or physical intervention when necessary
  • Log and report incidents involving hospital staff, patients, or visitors
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions
  • Perform emergency response duties as required
  • Must live within 30 minutes of Hinton
  • Must have open availability
  • Ability to obtain an Alberta Security License
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional, tactful, and customer-focused demeanor
  • Ability to write detailed reports and maintain site logs
  • Ability to make quick decisions under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Able to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs
  • Able to work overnights, weekends, and varying schedules
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
