Job summary

Pet Valu Canada, Inc. in Orleans, Ontario is seeking a friendly Sales Associate to help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and products for their pets. You will be part of a team of Pet Experts and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, with opportunities to learn about pet care and product knowledge.

The role requires reliability, weekend/evening availability, lifting up to 50 lbs, and a willingness to grow with one of North America's leading pet retailers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store experience.
• Enthusiasm for learning & growth in pet care industry.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Reliable transportation to and from the store.

Responsibilities

• Assist in relationships with Customers/Community and ensure that all customer service standards are met.
• Maintain proactive relationships within the community (e.g., Humane society, local rescues).
• Assist in maintaining operational standards and procedures.
• Assist with order placement, inventory maintenance, merchandising, and store upkeep.
• Assist in unloading deliveries and lifting up to 50 lbs.

What you do

Assist in relationships with Customers/Community and ensure that all customer service standards are met; maintain proactive relationships within the community (e.g.Humane society, Local private Pet rescues) Assist in maintaining Operational Standards/Procedures and ensure adherence to the standards and procedures set at Pet Valu Corporate Standards and the Franchise Store Owner Cashier and customer sales and service Assist with various administrative and other duties: including: order placement, placement, maintaining inventory, e order placements, maintain appropriate inventory, merchandising, ensuring store general maintenance and cleanliness tasks are completed Assist in unloading of deliveries of totes and pet food and supplies and putting into stock. Lifting of up to 50 lbs required Other duties and tasks as required

What you bring

Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store experience, including POS systems Enthusiasm for learning & growth in pet care industry Possess outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills Ability to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements, which include weekends and evenings Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store Willingness to continually learn and adapt to sales techniques and methods for providing excellent customer service. Observe and coach employees to provide feedback around sales techniques and providing excellent customer service Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively Industry experience an asset Bilingualism an asset
