Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our on-site team in Canada. The role supports pharmacy operations by preparing, packaging, and organizing prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

You will assist customers at the counter, handle phone inquiries, maintain patient records, process insurance claims, and aid in inventory, stocking, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills for handling prescriptions, records, and inventory.
• Basic math and computer skills to process transactions, insurance claims, and data entry in pharmacy systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment and follow direction from licensed pharmacists.
• High school diploma or equivalent; previous pharmacy, retail, or healthcare experience is an asset.
• Willingness to learn pharmacy procedures, regulations, and privacy requirements; pharmacy assistant certification or training is considered an advantage.
• Reliability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
