Overview

Paladin Security is Hiring a Healthcare Security Guard Ambassador!

Location: Kingston, ON

Wage: $22.61/hour

Employment Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM / 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Overtime: Employment Standards Act (ESA) after 40 hours

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a visible, professional, and alert security presence at all times.
  • Greet, assist, and direct visitors, patients, and staff while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Patrol hospital facilities (interior and exterior), responding to incidents, alarms, or emergencies as they arise.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate security documentation.
  • Enforce hospital policies and procedures, including parking and smoking by-laws.
  • Support hospital operations through patient watches, access control, and key management.
  • Conduct monthly safety inspections and participate in security briefings as needed.
  • De-escalate conflicts and respond calmly and professionally in high-stress situations.
  • Work collaboratively with hospital personnel and law enforcement when required.
Requirements
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses)
  • Immunization records for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests (Step 1 & 2)
  • English proficiency (oral and written)
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
  • Commitment to a minimum 6-month full-time availability

Applicants who are not immunized or cannot provide MMR-V documentation at the time of hire will not be eligible for this position.

Nice to Have
  • Minimum 6 months of healthcare security experience
  • Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience
  • 6+ months of customer service experience
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Ability to provide Stay Safe certification (or willingness to complete Paladin's paid certification program before onboarding)

Note: The Stay Safe certification is a pre-requisite. Paladin covers all certification costs with a 6-month employment commitment.
