Job summary

InterContinental Toronto Centre in Toronto is seeking a friendly concierge to coordinate guest needs, handle requests for services and tickets, and deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment.

You will assist guests with reservations, tickets, local recommendations, and VIP arrivals. The role requires strong English communication, a neat desk, and teamwork across departments to ensure memorable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus one year experience as a concierge or related discipline; some college and knowledge of the locale preferred.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Physical requirements: Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds and handling items like phone and keyboard.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate guests’ needs, requests, and inquiries to ensure superior service and value for guests.
• Coordinate guest requests including hotel services, tickets, restaurant and transport information; handle reservations and issue tickets where applicable.
• Provide guest assistance with florists, couriers, mail services, rental of small business machines, international calls, etc.
• Respond to guest concerns or complaints promptly and communicate outstanding requests or issues to management.
• Maintain a neat concierge desk and area reflecting the hotel and brand.
• Promote teamwork and coordinate with other departments; prepare for in-house group meetings and VIP arrivals.
• Perform other duties as assigned, such as luggage assistance.

Day To Day

Coordinate guests’ needs, requests, and inquiries to ensure superior service and value for our guests.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Collect and provide comprehensive information and coordinate guest requests including hotel services, sporting events, places of interest, restaurants, theater, airline, transportation tickets, limousine rentals, sightseeing tours and other information of interest; handle reservations and obtain/issue tickets where applicable.
• Provide guest assistance with florists, couriers, mail services, rental of small business machines, international calls, etc.
• Respond appropriately to guest concerns or complaints in a timely manner and communicate any outstanding requests or issues to management.
• Maintain a neat and orderly concierge desk and area that reflects highly on the hotel and brand.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments; prepare for all in‑house group meetings and VIP arrivals.
• Perform other duties as assigned such as assisting the bell stand, providing luggage assistance, and other related tasks.

What We Need From You

High School diploma or equivalent plus one year experience as a concierge or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; some college and knowledge of the locale preferred. Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.

Physical requirements:

• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Handling objects such as phone and computer keyboards.

Other

• Communication skills are used a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and third parties.
• Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing departmental records, logs, and tagging bags.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
