DREAM BIG consortium in Montreal seeks a biostatistics-focused researcher to manage data handling and advanced analyses. You will work with M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoc students, developing models and preparing publications.

The role emphasizes longitudinal analyses, machine learning, and collaboration across multiple sites. Starting immediately, the position requires a MSc in statistics or related field and strong coding skills in R/Python/SAS/SPSS.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in R, Python, SAS, SPSS and strong data visualization skills is required.
• 2+ years of experience in Biostatistics is preferred.
• MSc in statistics, public health, or a related domain is required.
• PhD is a plus but is not required.
• Experience in mental health or biomedical research is a plus.
• Starting Date: Immediately

Responsibilities

• Data handling, cleaning, and processing
• Performing longitudinal data analyses (e.g., generalized linear regression, confirmatory factor analysis, mixed models, cross-lagged panel models)
• Training machine-learning models (regression trees, gradient boosting, etc.)
• Providing close assistance to team members (M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoc students) to help them achieve their goals
• Assist with writing publications, posters, and grants

Job description

The DREAM BIG consortium (Developmental Research in Early Adversity Mental health BIological susceptibility and Gender) is a multi-site cohort across multiple countries (Canada, UK, Netherlands, Singapore, Norway, Finland) led by Dr Ashley Wazana. We seek to better understand the impact of prenatal adversity and genetics on children's development from birth to adulthood. Our interests thus lie in the intersections of genes and environments and their interaction (Gene-by-Environment interactions). Our team in Montreal consists of a mixture of M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoc McGill students working alongside various Physicians and Researchers from McGill and other Canadian and international universities. The lab is academicoriented with a focus on the theory of child development, but always with the goal of translating that research into future policies that can improve mental health resources for mothers and their children.
