A data streaming platform company in Canada is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and operate features that accelerate Cloud growth. This role focuses on collaboration, experimentation, and developing backend services using Go and frontend applications with React. Ideal candidates should have 3+ years of experience, particularly in cloud-native environments and a data-informed approach to decision-making.
We’re not just building better tech. We’re rewriting how data moves and what the world can do with it. With Confluent, data doesn’t sit still. Our platform puts information in motion, streaming in near real-time so companies can react faster, build smarter, and deliver experiences as dynamic as the world around them.
It takes a certain kind of person to join this team. Those who ask hard questions, give honest feedback, and show up for each other. No egos, no solo acts. Just smart, curious humans pushing toward something bigger, together.
One Confluent. One Team. One Data Streaming Platform.
The Growth Engineering team accelerates adoption and engagement across Confluent Cloud by building data-driven, experiment-oriented experiences that help users realize value faster. We move quickly, collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Data Science, and rely heavily on measurement to guide our work.
Our stack includes Go and Kubernetes on the backend, and React, Redux, and TypeScript on the frontend. We leverage tools like LaunchDarkly, Amplitude, Segment, Grafana, and OpenSearch to instrument, observe, and analyze everything we build.
If you thrive in an environment where priorities evolve quickly, you enjoy experimenting with new ideas, and you take pride in building reliable, scalable systems that drive measurable impact — you’ll feel right at home here.
Design, build, and operate full-stack features that power Confluent Cloud’s growth — from backend APIs to user-facing experiences.
Collaborate with partners to define, implement, and analyze experiments that improve user activation, retention, and expansion.
Develop reliable, performant, and maintainable backend services in Go, deployed to Kubernetes.
Build rich, intuitive frontend experiences in React, Redux, and TypeScript that guide users through key onboarding and upgrade flows.
Use tools like LaunchDarkly, Amplitude, Segment, Grafana, and OpenSearch to monitor outcomes, measure success, and inform future iterations.
Contribute to the team’s operational excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and shared ownership of production systems.
3+ years of software engineering experience, ideally across both backend and frontend development.
Proficiency in Go (or another statically typed backend language such as Java, C++, or Rust).
Experience building complex frontend applications with React, Redux, and TypeScript.
Strong understanding of cloud-native development.
Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
A data-informed mindset — experience using experimentation, analytics, or observability tools to guide decisions.
Strong collaboration, communication, and ownership skills.
You bring a growth mindset — eager to experiment, learn, and iterate quickly.
You enjoy working on systems that directly impact user behavior and business outcomes.
You can balance technical rigor with speed, knowing when to build for scale and when to ship fast.
You’re passionate about data-driven development, measuring success, and learning from results.
You take pride in owning projects end-to-end and collaborating across disciplines to deliver value.
Belonging isn’t a perk here. It’s the baseline. We work across time zones and backgrounds, knowing the best ideas come from different perspectives. And we make space for everyone to lead, grow, and challenge what’s possible.
We’re proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. Employment decisions are based on job‑related criteria, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other classification protected by law.
