Job summary

CIBC is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to join the Regulatory Technology - Client Data Services Team in Toronto. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable applications that enhance the client experience, blending backend systems with intuitive front-end interfaces.

You’ll drive technical design, development, and integration, while embracing a hybrid work model with 1-2 days on-site. Strong C#/.NET, Databricks, RESTful APIs and microservices are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of C#/.NET development with TDD/ATDD/BDD.
• Must have experience with .NET, C#, SQL Server, PowerShell, Databricks, ASP.NET, MVC, XML, JSON, .Net Core, Microservices, RESTful API and Unit Testing.
• Must have 1–3 years of hands-on Databricks experience.
• Knowledge of React, Agile, Azure, Databricks, Elastic search, GraphQL and SOLID design principles is a plus.
• Degree/diploma in Computer Science, SW Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex applications; lead technical design and integration of backend systems.
• Plan multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with banking strategy; drive multiple projects.
• Lead code reviews and mentor peers to ensure goals are met.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Regulatory Technology - Client Data Services Team. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale application development projects involving multiple back-end systems.As a Full Stack Developer, you’ll assemble, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience.You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-2 day per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

• Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the application’s technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.Lead the design and development of cost‑effective and innovative solutions.
• Strategic planning - Develop multi‑year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
• Leadership skills - Act as an application developer and run code‑review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support peer developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.

Who you are

• You can demonstrate experience with at least 4 years of C# / .Net development with Test Driven Development experience (TDD, ATDD or BDD). Must have experience with: .NET, C#, SQL Server, PowerShell, Databricks, ASP.NET, MVC, XML, Json, .Net Core, Microservices, RESTful API and Unit Testing. Must have 1–3 years of hands‑on Databricks experience.
• It’s an asset if: You have knowledge of React, Agile, Azure, specifically Databricks, Elastic search, GraphQL and SOLID design principles.
• You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, SW Engineering/or related programming degree/diploma.
