Job details
  • Location: New Waterford, NS B1H 1Z1
  • Salary: 20.00 to 24.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 40 to 50 hours per week
  • Terms of employment: Seasonal employment, full time
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Responsibilities
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Professionalism in customer service
  • Load and unload goods
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods
