Job summary

Circle K in Laval, QC is seeking a Fuel Accounting Analyst to join our on-site team. You will review and analyze fuel sales and purchases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Reporting to the Fuel Accounting Supervisor, you will prepare financial statements, resolve discrepancies with carriers, and support store managers with fuel accounting questions. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and bilingual French/English are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant accounting experience is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of the accounting cycle with attention to accuracy.
• Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English).

• Communicate with carriers and oil companies to resolve discrepancies and transaction-related issues.
• Validate the accuracy of fuel accounting data and make necessary corrections.

• Prepare fuel accounting financial statements and reports.
• Follow up on discrepancies and support resolution of operational and accounting issues.
• Serve as main contact for fuel accounting matters for store managers.

THE ROLE Reporting to the Fuel Accounting Supervisor, the Analyst is responsible for processing, reviewing, and analyzing financial data related to fuel sales and purchases. The Analyst ensures the accuracy of accounting information, compliance with internal controls, and the preparation of required financial reports

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Review and analyze fuel sales and purchases for the stores under your responsibility.
• Communicate with carriers and oil companies to resolve discrepancies and transaction-related issues.

• Perform required analyses and document internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements.
• Analyze various income statement accounts related to fuel activities, identify discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments.
• Prepare fuel accounting financial statements and reports.
• Follow up on discrepancies and contribute to resolving operational and accounting issues.
• Act as the main point of contact for fuel accounting matters for store managers under your responsibility and provide them with the necessary support.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of relevant accounting experience is considered an asset
• Knowledge and skills: Good understanding of the accounting cycle. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple files and priorities while meeting deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to urgent situations. Ability to work independently, stay organized, and work effectively as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
