Job summary

A community support organization in Vancouver is seeking an Outreach Worker to provide support and services to youth experiencing homelessness. Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Outreach experience required.
• Experience with youth facing homelessness or housing instability.
• First Aid & Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training are assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to youth living on the street and/or in the community.
• Build trusting relationships with youth experiencing homelessness.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to determine best care plans.

Skills

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to advocate on behalf of youth

Strong knowledge of community resources

Situational awareness

Ability to work with culturally diverse populations

Education

Diploma or bachelor’s degree related to social service
