Job summary

Google DeepMind in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Research Developer to design, train, and optimize foundational ML algorithms and systems. You’ll work across research and production, translating ideas into production‑grade architectures and scalable serving infrastructure.

You’ll collaborate with Google product teams, contribute to novel evaluation methodologies, and help push frontier AI capabilities into real‑world environments. Salary in CAD with bonus and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in machine learning, algorithm design, data structures, or distributed software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and optimize foundational algorithms and ML systems, including personalization and multimodal reasoning.
• Lead end‑to‑end technical development from algorithmic design to production‑grade architecture and scaled serving infrastructure.
• Partner with Google development and product teams to integrate core technologies into production environments, including Project Helix and intelligent system integrations.
• Formulate novel evaluation methodologies, automated and human‑in‑the‑loop, to measure gains, latency, compute efficiency, alignment.
