Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Frontend Engineer (Coding Agent Experience) on a remote contract basis to tackle challenging frontend tasks using frontier AI coding agents. You'll review and refine model-generated UI code, ensuring correctness, accessibility, and performance while collaborating with product and engineering teams.

The role requires 2+ years frontend experience, proficiency with React/TypeScript/JavaScript, and regular use of AI coding agents; ideal candidates have shipped large-scale apps

Role Responsibilities

• Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex engineering tasks.
• Review model-generated frontend code for correctness, quality, maintainability, accessibility, and performance.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in model outputs.
• Compare outputs from multiple frontier models and assess their strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic frontend engineering scenarios.

Qualifications

• Must-Have 2+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Experience building modern web applications using React , TypeScript , JavaScript , or similar technologies.
• Regular use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.
• Ability to evaluate model-generated frontend implementations, UI architecture, and performance optimizations.
• Preferred Experience working on large-scale consumer or enterprise applications.
