Job summary

SA Technologies Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a Front End Web Developer for a 6+ month engagement. You will build websites with strong optimization and functionality, and work on web layouts, desktop apps, and database-driven sites.

You will interact with servers, use SSH, and contribute across Wordpress, Drupal, ExpressionEngine, and CodeIgniter. Strong OS X experience and PHP/Python knowledge are required, along with a two-year degree in a computer-related field.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree/diploma in a computer-related field is required.
• Experience with PHP and Python is required.
• Strong MySQL database knowledge is required.

Job Description for Front End Web Developer:

• Develop websites ensuring strong optimization and functionality
• Work on projects including web layout enhancements, desktop applications, website enhancements, web-based applications, and database-driven websites
• Interact with servers using SSH
• Work in a variety of development frameworks including: Wordpress, Drupal, ExpressionEngine, CodeIgniter.

Skills we’d like to see:

• Excellent understanding of major operating systems
• Experience working in OS X
• At least a 2 year degree/diploma in a computer-related field (computer science/programming)
• Strong Knowledge of common programming languages including PHP and Python
• Experience with Expression Engine / Wordpress / Drupal development and available add-ons and plug-ins
• Excellent MySQL database knowledge
