Job summary

Walmart Peterborough is seeking a friendly and efficient cashier to support daily front-end operations and ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers at 950 Lansdowne St W, Peterborough, ON. You will greet customers, handle transactions accurately, promote services, and assist with bagging and loading while maintaining a safe, clean workspace.

In this role, you will learn self-checkout options, follow cash-handling procedures, and refer complex issues to the Front End Team Lead.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Processes all purchase transactions in a timely and efficient manner, including deactivation of merchandise with respect to the EAS Program.
• Promotes company sponsor programs, ie. Credit card service, product protection and charity initiatives.
• Assists customers with bagging and loading of merchandise.
• Ensures safe work practices are followed including proper lifting and keeping a clean work area.
• Maintains register security and integrity through diligent cash handling, adherence to relevant company policies and awareness of surroundings.
• Refers appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager or Front End Team Lead.
• Educating and supporting customers on the correct and efficient use of self-checkout options.
