Job summary

Oxford Learning Thornhill is seeking a part-time French teacher/tutor to help students improve their French language skills in a supportive small‑group setting (up to three students).

You will teach in French, guide speaking and comprehension, and maintain detailed notes and progress updates. Evening availability Mon‑Thu from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm is required, in‑person at 110-7700 Bathurst Street, Thornhill, ON. Pay is $17.60 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Experience teaching or tutoring French to Grades 4–12.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in French and English.
• Ability to manage up to three students simultaneously and multitask effectively.
• Commitment to teaching evenings Monday-Thursday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm; availability through the school year and summer preferred.
• In-person teaching required; must commute to Thornhill location.

• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 4‑12 French core curriculum.
• Experience with vulnerable sector screening.
