Job summary

Oxford Learning Oakville Uptown Core in Oakville, ON is seeking a part-time French Teacher to support Grades 5–12. You will teach French in the after-school and evening program, up to three students at a time, in-person.

Candidates must be certified to teach French in Ontario, live nearby, and commit through the school year (summer extension preferred). Strong French and English skills are required, with a reliable, student-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in teaching French in Ontario and have experience teaching French in Ontario.
• Must reside in Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, Etobicoke, or Milton.
• Commitment through the school year; summer extension preferred.
• Strong background in spoken and written French and English; comfortable teaching up to Grade 12.

Responsibilities

Grade 5-12 French Teacher Wanted

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 2:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English and be comfortable teaching up to a Grade 12 level.

The candidate is required to instruct class sessions in French.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 5-12 French core curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 5 to 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
